Narrated by Vivian Leigh.
Story dramatized with music, songs and full cast.

BEATRIX POTTER
Although she died in 1943, Beatrix Potter is still one of the world's best-selling and best-loved children's authors. Potter wrote and illustrated a total of 28 books, including the 23 Tales, the 'little books' that have been translated into more than 35 languages and sold over 100 million copies.

Although she is best known as the creator of charming and exquisitely illustrated children's stories, Beatrix Potter had other significant talents. Achieving far more than was expected of - or thought proper for - the daughter of a rich Victorian family, she was not only an artist and writer, but a gifted natural scientist and botanical illustrator, then, later in life, an enthusiastic farmer, sheep-breeder and conservationist.

The above two paragraphs are quoted from the Victoria and Albert Museum Beatrix Potter collection page. You may read her full biography and see a wonderful collection of her drawings by going to their website at this link:

VIVIEN LEIGH
Born in India in 1913 to a British stockbroker and his Irish wife, Vivien Leigh first appeared on stage in convent-school amateur theatricals. Completing her education in England, France, Italy, and Germany, she studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Vivien made movie history with her portrayal of Scarlett in Gone With the Wind (1939, opposite Clark Gable), winning her first Oscar. She won another Oscar in 1951 for A Streetcar Named Desire (with Marlon Brando).

She narrated these seven adaptations of Beatrix Potter's children's books in 1960. With full cast, music and songs they are miniature musical productions of very high quality.
